Chicken & Dumplings

One of my all time favorites to order, and now I’ll test it out see if I can make it as yummy as the restaurants. The recipe I’m following is very simple. Also I’ve made a few adjustments to fit my tastes and desires (as usual). For extra goodness serve over mashed potatoes! Or add cubed potatoes in step 1. This makes about 4 servings, depending  on how you dish it.

1 1/2 cups milk (skim)
1 cup peas and carrots (frozen or fresh)
1 cup cut-up cooked chicken
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed creamy chicken mushroom soup
1 cup Bisquick
1/3 cup milk (skim)
 step Paprika, or season however desired

  1. 1 In 3-quart saucepan, heat 1 1/2 cups milk, the peas and carrots, chicken and soup to boiling.
  2. 2 In small bowl, stir together Bisquick® mix and 1/3 cup milk until soft dough forms. Drop dough by 8 spoonfuls into chicken mixture (do not drop directly into liquid). Sprinkle with paprika.
  3. 3 Cook uncovered over low heat 10 minutes. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
