My Little Green Tree

One of my favorite styles of writing is when it’s just thoughts. No need for rhyming not need for a funny quip just unedited thoughts. I feel you can get to the emotions, and understand thought process far better. It doesn’t seem as interesting for the reader because there’s no fancy play on words, but it’s so satisfying for the writer. When I moved into my apartment it was early spring, snow on the ground the main color theme was brown. The view outside my living room window is of a yard full of cars a few scraggly trees and some dead beetle pines. Not necessarily pretty I’ll admit. It’s currently June everything has gained color, but a few short weeks ago the ugliest tree out my window is now the most vibrant beautiful green you could ever see. I’ve grown attached to this tree, it stands out from everything else brightening one spot making beauty. For days I’ve been trying to come up with a cute little poem but have been having a hard time of it. Lots of nonsense running through my head so I decided not to make it all witty and funny. Just put thought to paper. I know it’s not amazing but I like it.

My Little Green Tree

My little green tree brings much comfort to me,
On cloudy and rainy days.
Standing out  brighter than anything around.
Filling the little space outside my window.
Leaves fluttering in the wind,
Such a calming effect.
I could just sit and watch my little green tree,
Hot cup of tea warming me.
Happy as could be.

Imperfection, but expressing what I wanted. I’m sure at some point the tree will inspire other works but for now this is the best way to express.
